What is a profile?
Your ZeitBrite profile is a way of describing yourself, inclusive of information about your work, your interests, and what you might be thinking about like current problems or questions. The profile is accessible only to other ZeitBrite members.

Who can see the information I put on my profile page?
ZeitBrite allows you to strictly manage the kind of information you release and who you allow to see it. Management of your profile information is arranged according to the kind of connections you choose to engage in with another ZeitBrite member. Connections can be designated by you, as follows:

Non-Members - The general public, that is, individuals who are not members of the ZeitBrite community cannot access your profile or any information submitted exclusively within the ZeitBrite network. ZeitBrite membership can only be achieved via a process of referral – leading to the issuance of an invitation – followed by a vetting process.

ZeitBrite Member - No Connection - All ZeitBrite members may see three basic descriptors from your profile: 1) Your name; 2) Your organizational affiliation; and, 3) Your specified location.

ZeitBrite Member - Connected - Any member with whom you are connected – either through mutual group membership or as a colleague of your colleague – is able to see your elaborated profile, but they do not have access to any of your contact information.

ZeitBrite Member - Colleague (Limited Profile) – A colleague is a way of associating yourself with another ZeitBrite member in order to give them access to your elaborated profile. When a member requests a collegial connection with you, it requires active confirmation or no connectedness will be established. A collegial connection can be agreed to with a limited profile designation. A colleague with a limited profile designation does not have access to your contact information.

ZeitBrite Member - Colleague – Colleague status with another ZeitBrite member allows the viewing of your elaborated profile and allows you to exchange contact information. Colleague designation requires active confirmation, or no connectedness will be established.

  ZeitBrite Colleagues

What is a colleague?
In ZeitBrite, initiating a collegial connection with another ZeitBrite member is a way of associating yourself with that person so that they can see your profile and understand what are working on, what questions or problems you may have specified and in what endeavors you may be engaged. Colleague designation requires active confirmation, or no connectedness will be established.

What is the Colleague network in ZeitBrite?
As ZeitBrite members designate more colleague connections, a colleague network begins to fill out that allows you to see profile information about your colleagues – as well as the profiles of their designated colleagues. Colleague connections are valuable within the community. The Colleague status denotes a sense of value and confidence in that member as a trusted associate with whom others may wish to work. Collegial connections therefore increase your Correlative Index. The real strength of ZeitBrite is the generation of a virtuous community of colleagues for enabling sound and productive collaborations.

How do I add someone as my colleague?
When viewing a member's basic profile page, you can locate the Add to colleagues link just below their picture. Clicking on the Add to colleagues link will send that member an email asking them to confirm the colleague connection. Once they confirm, they will be added to your list of colleagues, displayed on your profile page.
