What is the purpose of the Collaborative Blog?
|
The Collaborative Blog is a space for people to publish ideas and engage in conversation around a single, uniting theme. The Collaborative Blog is made up of posts organized by topic, and users can create new topics or comment on existing topics. In ZeitBrite, each group has its own Collaborative Blog, and only group members can use it.

Who can add a new Collaborative Blog topic?
How do I add a new topic?
1. On the Collaborative Blog homepage, under the Forum column, select the Blog you would like to add a new topic to. For example, if you would like to add a topic to the ZeitBrite Community Blog, click on that link. This will take you to list of topics for that group.
2. Click on the new topic button in the upper right corner. This will bring up the Post a new topic page.
3. Enter your topic. You may also add a poll.
4. When you are finished, at the bottom of the page, you can either click on Preview to preview your post, or on Submit to submit your post.

How do I comment on a topic?
1. On the Collaborative Blog homepage, under the Forum column, select the Blog that has the topic that you would like to add a comment to. For example, if you would like to add a comment to a topic in the ZeitBrite Community Blog, click on that link. This will take you to list of topics for that group.
2. Under the Topics column, click on the topic that you would like to add a comment to. This will bring you to the topic's page.
3. Click on the post reply button in the upper right hand corner, to the right of the new topic button,. It will bring you to the Post a reply page.
4. Enter in your comment. There is a Topic review toward the bottom of the page if you would like to read over the current comments as you are creating your reply.
5. When you are finished, at the bottom of the page, you can either click on Preview to preview your comment, or on Submit to submit your comment.

What is Photo Maki?
|
Photo Maki is a venue for sharing photos of novel innovations and unique technologies. You can upload a picture you think is noteworthy or create new innovations through combining existing photos.

How do I upload a picture?
1. In the left hand menu, click on the Upload link. This will bring you to Step 1: of the Photo Maki : Upload page.
2. Make sure the Your email: field contains your correct email address and then fill in a Description (300 chars max) field with a description of the photo you are uploading (text entered here will be used in the File Spot and Photo Maki Search function).
3. Click on Continue. This will bring you to Step 2 of the Photo Maki: Upload page.
4. Click on the Browse button and select what photo you would like to upload. A 100x100 pixel picture works best for Photo Maki, so if you can resize before uploading that would be ideal.
5. Click on Submit.

How do I create a photo maki?
1. In the left hand menu, click on Create Maki link. This will bring you to the Photo Maki : Create Maki page.
2. At the top of the page, in the Your Current Maki: section, you can see which pictures you have selected. If there is a question mark instead of a photo, then that means you have not selected a photo for that slot. Below this section you will see a tabbed navigation bar allowing the following optiont: Select first photo, Select second photo, What is the result?, and Lets Maki!.
3. Click on those tabs to fill in the question mark slots in the Your Current Maki: section. You can select a photo by clicking on the Select button to the right of the photo.
4. In the What is the result? tab, you can either choose to Provide a description: or Select from below: to choose a photo for your result. If you decide to provide a description, fill in the text box and click on the Select button directly below the text box. If you choose a photo, click on the corresponding Select button on the right.
5. When you are finished, click on the Lets Maki tab and the Submit button.

How can I find pictures and photo makis?
|
Click on the Search link in the left hand side menu. This will bring you to the Photo Maki : Search page. You will be able to search for individual photos or for photo makis. Type in your key words in the corresponding text field and then click on Search. The results should appear below the search fields.
